EXPLORE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF
Loft conversions
Every property is different. The right type of loft conversion depends on your roof structure, available space, budget and what you want to achieve. Explore the main options below.

Rooflight-Velux Conversion
A Velux loft conversion makes use of your existing roof space by installing roof windows to bring in natural light. The existing roofline generally remains unchanged, making it a popular option for homeowners looking to create a bright, practical space with minimal alterations to the roof. It is ideal for lofts that already have sufficient headroom.

Dormer Conversion
A rear dormer loft conversion extends vertically from the rear slope of the existing roof, creating additional headroom and usable floor space. It is a popular choice for homeowners looking to create a spacious bedroom, home office or ensuite bathroom. A rear dormer can transform an underused loft into a comfortable and functional living area.

Hip-to-Gable conversion
A hip-to-gable loft conversion extends the sloping side of a hipped roof outwards to create a vertical wall, known as a gable. This increases the available internal space and makes the loft more practical to use. It is particularly suited to semi-detached and detached houses with hipped roofs, and can often be combined with a rear dormer for even more space.

L-Shape Dormer
L-shaped dormer loft conversions can be the perfect option for creating more room at the top of your property. They are the best way to extend period properties, especially if it’s a mid-terrace. This type of dormer conversion creates so much additional floor space that it usually adds at least two large rooms to your home. Once dormer windows, French doors and Velux windows are added to the design, it creates beautifully light, generous-sized rooms.
